Salon.com reports that activist group OUR Walmart and the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) are hoping to coordinate a strategy that will result in "widespread, massive strikes and protests" on Black Friday this year - the day after Thanksgiving, the traditional beginning of the end-of-year holiday shopping season.


• The Hindustan Times reports that Walmart is considering an end to "its six-year-old wholesale joint venture with Bharti Group amid speculation that the world’s largest superstore chain has begun talks with other companies for its front-end retail foray in India."

A decision is expected by the end of the month. Walmart ands Bharti are under investigation in India for possibly violating the nation's rules about investment by global retailers there.
