Michael Sansolo, who has been senior vice president of the Food Marketing Institute for the past 13 years, responsible for virtually all the organization’s educational and research initiatives, has announced his resignation from the trade association. Sansolo will continue to work with FMI on building the new education event planned for 2009 and will be doing much, much more (read KC’s view down below.)

“FMI has been a great experience for me and I am very grateful to the members and staff for their support and friendship. Life is about change and challenge and I’m thrilled to move into new ventures where I can work with companies in a whole new way,” Sansolo said.

Now here’s the good part…the really good part. (Pardon my enthusiasm…but I can’t contain myself, even from thousands of miles away as I report in from Shanghai, China.)

Once he has departed FMI, Michael will be a regular here on MorningNewsBeat, and we’ll be working together on a couple of other exciting projects that we can’t talk about at the moment. (But we think they’re pretty cool.) And, Michael will be doing a lot of speaking about critical issues impacting businesses and shoppers today.
