The Cincinnati Business Courier reports that Kroger and the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) local representing close to 10,000 Detroit-area employees “have forged a tentative agreement on a new contract.” Terms of the new deal, and timing for a membership vote, were not disclosed.

The agreement came as published reports said that members of the UFCW local in northwestern Ohio have voted to authorize a labor action against Kroger if a contract agreement cannot be reached there; the next negotiating sessions are slated to take place in early June.
