CBS News is reporting that Safeway is turning to its customers to find new faces to adorn its organic baby lines for children.

The company is bringing out organic lines for both babies and toddlers, and has asked its shoppers to submit via the Internet pictures of their children that can be used on the labels. The company will choose regional winners from around the country who will receive $1,000 worth of gift certificates, and then pick ultimate winners from that grouping.

We think that anytime retailers or manufacturers can integrate consumers into their marketing efforts, it is a smart move. It creates a sense of community and hopefully extends the connection to the shopper.
