The Los Angeles Times reports that the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) has withdrawn a complaint alleging that Albertsons violated labor law.

The UFCW filed the original complaint last month, accusing the supermarket chain of carrying out a campaign to intimidate its union workers ahead of a strike authorization vote. That strike was authorized, though no date has been set, and negotiations continue between management and labor as they try to avoid a repeat of the crippling strike/lockout of three years ago.

According to the story, the UFCW said it was withdrawing the complaint because of a lack of witnesses.
KC's View:
Would it be too much to think that maybe the UFCW should have known about the lack of witnesses before it filed the complaint?

But maybe this is just a harbinger of a great peace down the road…
