Wal-Mart Stores yesterday announced that it will pay out $530 million in bonuses to 813,759 eligible part-time and full-time employees in the United States – which works out to about $650 apiece, assuming that each employee receives an equal amount, which they won’t.

In addition, the retailer said that it will award 13,400 employees who have worked at for the company for more than 20 years with an extra week's pay, and plans to pay out unspecified bonus to employees who excel at customer service.

Wal-Mart employs 1.3 million people in the US.
KC's View:
They aren’t everything, but bonuses are a great way of making people feel appreciated. It doesn’t just spread cash…it also spreads some goodwill.

Good for Wal-Mart.
