  • Supervalu reported third quarter net sales of $4.6 billion compared to $4.7 billion last year, and third quarter net earnings of $64.9 million compared to $48.6 million last year.

    For the first 40 weeks of fiscal 2005, the company reported net sales of $15.0 billion compared to $15.2 billion last year, and net earnings of $292.9 million compared to $184.5 million last year.


  • C-store chain 7-Eleven reported that total December sales grew 12.9 percent to about $1.02 billion from $901 million during the same month a year ago. Same-store sales, not including gasoline, were up 5.6 percent.


  • International warehouse club operator PriceSmart reported that for the first quarter of fiscal year 2005, total revenues increased 5.9 percent to $156.7 million from $148.0 million in the first quarter of fiscal year 2004. Net warehouse club sales increased 6.5 percent to $153.0 million in the current quarter from $143.7 million in the first quarter of fiscal year 2004. The company had an operating profit of $1.8 million in the quarter compared to an operating loss of $4.0 million in the first quarter last year.
