  • Javier Benito, chief marketing officer for the Coca-Cola Co., has submitted his resignation.

His duties will be spit between John Hackett, who was named senior vice president for marketing, and Melody Justice, named president of its U.S. retail division.

Analysts suggested that Benito’s resignation was linked to the poor performance of the company’s C2 mid-calorie soft drink.
