- A new study says that Internet sales during the just-past holiday season, consumers spent $23.2 billion, up 25 percent over the same period a year ago. The results were higher than the 20 percent increase that had been predicted by many analysts.
Top categories in online sales were jewelry, followed by toys and video games, and then by consumer electronics.
Online sales during the holidays were about five percent of all retail sales during the holidays.
