  • Stater Bros. reported annual sales for the most recent fiscal year that were up 34.5 percent to $3.7 billion, with same-store sales up 30.3 percent. Annual net income for the year reached $71.8 million, compared to $10.1 million a year ago. The improvement was credited to Stater’s ability to capitalize on the strike/lockout that affected the Southern California market during the early part of the year.

    Sales for the fiscal fourth quarter were $840.9 million, up 18.9 percent from the same period a year ago, with same store sales for the quarter up 13.4 percent. Net income for the quarter was $12.7 million, up from $2.6 million a year ago.


  • General Mills reported that second quarter net income increased to $367 million, from $308 million a year earlier. Sales in the quarter ended Nov. 28 rose 3.5 percent to $3.17 billion.
