  • Netflix Inc. and TiVo Inc. have signed a deal that will have the two companies teaming up to create a service that will pipe DVD-quality movies via the Internet into the homes of their mutual subscribers.

KC's View:
We found this interesting, not because it has any direct impact on the food/retailing business, but because it seems like a good illustration of two companies that are in the entertainment business realizing that the trends will make their delivery systems outmoded…and adjusting their approaches and forming alliances so they are positioned to be in place as momentum builds.

This strikes us as smart business.
