The Associated Press reports that the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is saying that it has intercepted 429 packages of prescription drugs sent from Canada to the US and determined that the products – ordered via the Internet – actually were made elsewhere, had suspicious labels, and in some cases actually had generic, US-manufactured equivalents available for less money in the states.

The FDA has been working to stem the tide of reimportation, which has Canadian prescription drugs imported by US citizens and municipalities in order to save money.
