According to a story in the Omaha World-Herald, ConAgra Foods believes that the next great wellness trend will be the elimination of trans fats from foods – and therefore is working to eliminate these trans fatty acids from as many of its products as possible.

ConAgra CEO Bruce Rohde told the paper that the company already has trans fat-free popcorns as well a trans fat-free versions of some of its spreads. He also said that he believes that the low-carb trend was a fad that already has peaked…and that it is critical to take a longer-term approach to the subject of diet and nutrition.
KC's View:
The only problem with taking a long-term approach is that it requires greater commitment and patience because ROI doesn’t tend to come as fast. Kudos to ConAgra for taking an intelligent, measured approach to the subject.
