  • A new study out of the UK says that retailer Tesco continues to improve its online performance, increasing its web traffic by 27 percent during the first half of 2004. Visitors reportedly spend an average of almost 22 minutes per session on the site, and research suggests that Tesco is far more used by consumers than competitors Sainsbury or Wal-Mart’s Asda Group.


  • Yahoo! reportedly has done an “Internet Deprivation Study,” and found that while a small percentage people who were deprived of Internet usage for two weeks found that they had lost the ability to use old-fashioned tools such as the newspaper and phone book, almost 48 percent of people polled were unable and unwilling to go 14 days without using the Web.
