  • Wal-Mart Stores reported second quarter net sales of $69.7 billion, an increase of 11.3 percent over the second quarter of fiscal 2004. Income from continuing operations for the quarter was $2.7 billion, an increase of 16.1 percent from $2.3 billion in the second quarter of fiscal 2004.

    Net sales for the first six months of the fiscal year were $134.5 billion, an increase of 12.7 percent over the first six months of fiscal 2004. Income from continuing operations for the six months ended July 31, 2004, increased 17.1 percent to a record $4.8 billion, up from $4.1 billion in the same prior year period.
