  • In the litigation involving Amazon.com and Toys R Us, a judge ruled last week that Amazon can launch on schedule this September a service that will allow a virtually unlimited number of sellers to sell a wide number of products via its website – a launch that previously had been prohibited by a restraining order gotten by Toys R Us when it filed suit against the company. However, the judge said that toys and games cannot be sold via this new “graphical user interface” until the suits are settled or decided.

The suit charges that Amazon violated an exclusivity agreement with Toys R Us when it allowed other companies to sell toys and games via its site. Amazon has countersued.

However, the judge also indicated, according to reports, that Toys R Us seems to have the stronger hand in the battle of lawsuits.
