business news in context, analysis with attitude

Tony Randall, best known for the TV version of “The Odd Couple,” died yesterday at age 84.

Randall had a long and distinguished career in movies and on stage, and was passionately committed to promoting live theater – both in New York and throughout the country.

But for many of us, Randall will forever be associated with the character of fussbudget Felix Unger. We can remember many nights when we would return home after working the late shift at the newspaper, and the first thing we’d do is switch on an “Odd Couple” rerun…which we could always count on for a laugh.
