  • Kraft Foods Inc. has acquired privately held beverage-maker Veryfine Products Inc. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

  • Rite Aid reportedly is rolling out a biometrics system to its 3,400 stores that will allow for fingerprint authentication of sensitive consumer information.

  • The Conference Board, a private research firm, said its index of consumer confidence dropped a bit in March, to 88.3 from 88.5 in February. The key worry among consumers seemed to be slow job creation.

  • Convenience store operator 7-Eleven Inc. announced that it will sell its Dallas headquarters to reduce expenses and eliminate about $110 million in debt. It isn’t giving up the space, though. The company will remain as a tenant with a three year lease and an option for a seven-year renewal.
