California winery RH Phillips reportedly will begin bottling its entire RH Phillips line of wine with screw caps, and plans to do the same thing with its Toasted Head brand to screw caps as well.

In addition, Washington State winery Hogue Cellars may make a similar move in 2005.

According to Wine Business, these moves mark the most significant move by major California wineries to screw tops…a development that seems to be taking place because of the growing shortage of cork.
