- The Pew Internet & American Life Project reports in a new study that 23 percent of adult US Internet users, or roughly 30 million people, have gone online from a place other than home or work. About 27 percent did so at school, 26 percent from friends' or neighbors' homes, and 26 percent at libraries.
More than four million US adults go on the Internet from a place other than home or work every single day.
