  • The US Department of Justice (DOJ) and the federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) have struck an agreement with Dominick's Finer Foods, a division of Safeway Inc., which will resolve the retailer's alleged violations of federal ozone regulations. Under the agreement, Dominick's will take steps that will cut by over 35 tons future releases of chlorofluorocarbon refrigerants, known as "CFCs", that destroy stratospheric or "good" ozone.

  • Wal-Mart reportedly has begun building its second store in Beijing, and hopes to have it open before the end of the year. A third Beijing store also is on the drawing board.

    The company first opened a store in China in 1996, and currently has 33 units there.

  • Gatorade is introducing a new ESPN-flavored edition of its sports drink later this year, in concert with the cable network's 25th anniversary.

    What exactly ESPN tastes like is not being disclosed.
