A group of California residents has filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court against Anheuser-Busch and Miller Brewing, claiming that the beer companies' advertising intentionally targets minors, promoting and facilitating under-age drinking.

Steve Berman, attorney for the California plaintiffs, said, "We allege and intend to prove that these manufacturers are luring under-age drinkers into potentially life-threatening addictions before they have the maturity necessary to make an informed decision whether to consume alcohol." Furthermore, the suit charges that Anheuser-Busch and Miller are inflating their profits at the expense of public safety and health.

Anheuser-Bush dismissed the suit as being without merit. Miller has not yet commented on the suit.
