The Wall Street Journal reports that Wal-Mart has made a deal with Blimpie Inc. to feature the sandwich chain in 100 of its stores, replacing Wal-Mart's own Radio Grill offering in those locations.

The company said that it was making the move in order to provide customers with low-carb options, which were not on the menu at Radio Grill. Blimpie has made a big push in the low-carb arena. The WSJ notes that "Blimpie's low-carbohydrate menu, introduced just three months ago, already accounts for about 8% of total sales."

At this point, Wal-Mart has Radio Grills in 1,500 locations, and McDonald's in another 900 units.
