business news in context, analysis with attitude

The Toledo Blade reports that three Farmer Jack stores there will be converted by owner A&P to its Food and Drug Basics no-frills format.

This follows earlier reports that the company would sell, close or convert its six Toledo units. Now, according to reports, it appears that three will be closed and three converted.

Farmer Jack has about 10 percent of the market, finding it tough competition against the likes of Kroger and Meijer.
