In Great Britain, local media have been reporting that Marks & Spencer will open 40 new Simply Food outlets in railroad stations all over the country during the next three years.

The move follows a successful three-unit test.

Simple enough, it seems. Just sell food where the people are. Even if that means going to them, as opposed to building stores that they have to travel to.
